This series is composed of film photographs taken with a half-frame camera while enroute between Winnipeg and Montreal. They are from the window of commercial airplanes while taking off, flying and landing between the two cities. They are a meditation on the experience of space through aerial views, the symbolic presence of the horizon line and the viewer’s position relative to the vastness that surrounds. Ink-jet printed onto soft cotton paper, the images become even more ethereal. Screen-printed delicate details of lines and shapes emphasize and impose familiar perspectives onto these spaces.
